BBC-Schlagzeilen: Nachplappern syrischer Terrorvorwürfe gegenüber Israel

Die BBC nimmt offensichtlich nicht zur Kenntnis, dass Terrorakte gegen israelische Zivilisten eben das sind, was sie sind, und dass Palästinenser, die in mörderischer Absicht israelische Zivilisten mit Messern, Raketen und Selbstmordanschlägen töten wollen, nun mal Terroristen sind.
Dennoch hat die BBC dank freundlicher Mithilfe des verabscheuungswürdigen syrischen Regimes von Bashar al Assad, das verantwortlich ist für den rücksichtslosen Mord an Männern, Frauen und Kindern in einem Bürgerkrieg, der während der letzten drei Jahre etwa 70.000 Menschenleben* gekostet hatte, das “T”-Wort**, für sich entdeckt.
Ja, es stimmt: Israel wird mit Terroristen in Verbindung gebracht. Und woher wissen wir das? Zumindest von den Syrern.

Terror schönreden: Die Ausflüchte der BBC

Als Reaktion auf die Kritik von HonestReporting an der BBC-Berichterstattung über den tödlichen Messerangriff eines palästinensischen Terroristen auf einen Israeli hat das für Nahost zuständige Redaktionsbüro der BBC einem unserer Abonnenten folgende Antwort zukommen lassen:
Wir verwendeten das Wort “Siedler”, weil es in erster Linie der Terminus ist, der möglichst exakt und vollständig das Attentatsopfer vom [letzten] Dienstag beschreibt. Selbstverständlich lieferten wir im Bericht weiter unten mehr Details zum Opfer.
“Israeli” ist hier falsch, weil damit nicht deutlich wird, dass Eviatar Borovzky im Westjordanland gelebt hatte. Nach Internationalem Recht handelt es sich beim Westjordanland um besetzte Gebiete, und Israelis, die dort leben, sind demzufolge Siedler. Dies schmälert oder rechtfertigt in keiner Weise einen Mord. Da zuständig für Informationen für ein internationales Nachrichten-Publikum versuchen wir so transparent wie möglich darüber zu berichten, wer wen und wo getötet hat. On November 5th 2012 an article in the Middle East section of the BBC News website reported that: 
“A Palestinian has died after being hit by Israeli gunfire as he approached Gaza’s border fence with Israel. The Israeli military said the man was shot after ignoring warnings to stop…”

We call upon the BBC to release the findings to the general public of the Balen report that looked into its Middle East coverage and allegations of bias against Israel by the BBC. The BBC has spent over a third of a million pounds on covering up these findings for eight years. We believe this is a misuse of BBC licence fee payers’ money. The BBC should be obligated to reveal to its licence fee payers all the findings of this report on its coverage of the Middle East.
The BBC trust has to ensure that the BBC provides accurate and impartial news. The remit of the Balen report was to examine the BBC’s coverage of the Middle East. By covering up these findings it stops the Trust is not seen to be ensuring that the BBC is a purveyor of accurate and impartial news. The BBC must be accountable to the public it serves. The report should be released without delay. Otherwise, we can only assume that the BBC has something to hide.
